Location and Setting
The office of Mary Light is in the Scio Church Road/Parker Road vicinity of Ann Arbor, convenient to west Ann Arbor, Dexter, and Chelsea. The setting is amid 800 private acres where I have my herb school and botanical sanctuaries- it is serene and beautiful. Clients report that they gradually become ever more peaceful as they make the very short drive into quiet country roads and drink in the healing of trees, vistas and open space. I am easily accessible from 1-94. A comfortable consultation and healing room is set up for your session. There is a waiting area, and also, an open space for your children to play if young children accompany you. On lovely days clients and guests may nurture themselves with the great and beautiful outdoors if they wish, enjoying seating areas and walks amid various sanctuaries and contemplation gardens.
Directions are given to clients who have made a confirmed appointment. The office is just a few minutes from Scio Church Road/Maple crossroads in the city of Ann Arbor. You may make an appointment by calling 734-769-7794. Please contact our office via telephone for all matters relating to appointments, including cancellations and rescheduling- we are unable to confirm appointments effectively via e mail.
New clients for natural health consultations will be mailed an intake form, to be filled out and sent back to our office prior to their appointment. Your appointment is confirmed after we receive the intake form, along with a $45.00 retainer, which is used as a deposit towards any balance for consult fees as well as any formulations purchased. Scheduling is generally 2-3 weeks out , with weekly time alloted to respond to the scheduling of acute care and emergency calls.
Fees: all fees are payable prior to the start of the session, with cash , personal check, or money order. No credit or debit cards . Tips are not expected or accepted.
Consultations: $45.00 - brief consult and $125.00 - Multi focus consult. A consult is offered to help clients determine natural healing perspectives into their health conditions, along with natural therapeutics recommendations for healing, such as herbal formulations, dietary healing, bodywork, and additional approaches as advised.
A brief consult is within a one hour appointment and is designed to address one or two simple issues, in order to gain insight into natural healing methods and approaches.
An Multi focus consultation is scheduled within a 2 hour time frame with the intention of taking an in - depth look at your health history and goals in a holistic manner, giving advisory, programs, and recommendations for natural therapeutics, including herbal formulations.
Be aware that it is often advised as necessary within this healing framework to have a follow up. I will recommend a follow up appointment for your well being , and within a time frame suited to your individual case in progress, condition and goals. This time frame is generally within one month of the initial consultation- in order to qualify as a "follow up". Follow ups are generally scheduled within a half hour appointment, although sometimes longer, particularly if the client wishes for adjunct treatments. The rate for the half hour follow up is $35.00. Helping people heal is not always accomplished in one session, and requires several steps of follow up for the most success to come out of your efforts and investment in natural healing. And, beyond follow up appointments, I always welcome clients to contact me again after a consultation should additional health concerns arise.
For Bodywork: I describe my approaches and philosophy to bodywork - meaning massage therapy in all it's forms, including reflexive work such as foot reflexology and acupressure and Shiatsu , as well as various traditional soft tissue modes - on the "Bodywork' page. In my experience since 1991, practicing, teaching, and continuing to train in this expression of healing , I feel that a session which attempts to fit in to a one hour appointment is no longer adequate for the various healing processes , including integration, to take place. Your session begins on time - example: 4 p.m. appointment will begin at 4 p.m. and end at 5:30 , with the client able to walk out the door and on to another scheduled event at 5:35 p.m.
"Medical" massage with insurance billing : Used here, the term medical massage simply means that your auto or health insurance is covering your treatment for medically recognized rehabilitative reasons , resulting from pre-approval of a submitted Evaluation and Treatment plan (which I would submit). Fee are subject to customary medical billing code rates used in the medical industry, and would be direct billed to the company itself. In my experience all conditions which cause pain to the client fit into the "medically recognized" category; it is a determination which the practitioner (myself) makes in conjunction with the insurance officer.
For Energy work- this generic term refers to a variety of sessions, for a variety of reasons. I am very well trained, and have also taught, a variety of energy healing methods, including Polarity, Therapeutic Touch, MariEl work, spiritual healing, Reiki, and individual methods from various teachers.
The sessions are conducted in a sacred space in a setting that is constantly purified by the natural elements of the quiet countryside. Fees: $70- $95, excepting special discounts which are offered at times throughout the year.
